Gay Rights are Human Rights
by While the states and the politicians and the religious right argue over same sex marriage, it is time to step back and take a look at the fact that the constitution already affords us those rights.
There is nothing in the language of the constitution that states anything at all about gender or sexual orientation. This is why the religious right is in such a panic to rewrite to constitution. They know that it is just a matter of time before people realize that denying same sex marriages is without legal standing. No state may deny marriage based on racial orientation because there is nothing in the constitution that states marriage is between two people of the same color. Similarly there is nothing in there that states it must be between a man and a woman. In fact, marriage is not mentioned at all in the constitution. The only inferences that can be made are those of legally binding contracts being honored from state to state. Marriage, it seems, is a religious or social custom that has been validated by the issuing of a government document to protect the rights of the parties involved. That’s all. Nothing else.
So, if you are gay, straight, bi, transgendered, lesbian or even just a plain old heterosexual and you want to get married, then find a church or a justice of the peace and do so. It is your right. It is all of our rights, and if the states refuse to recognize that then maybe it is time that we, as a community of citizens, did something about it.

My son is gay. But we don’t see him as “gay.” We see him as MY SON, AN UNCLE., A BROTHER, A FRIEND, A HARD WORKER, A RESPECTABLE, KIND, LOVING, PERSON, A TAXPAYER, A LAWFUL CITIZEN, All the things that Haters think they are. He was BORN that way, and for people to say it is a “choice.” is simply IGNORANT! No one wants to be gay, any more than anyone wants to be POOR!
ALL human rights are for HUMANS, not people who think they are better than others, because of their social status, the color of their skin, the way their eyes slant, or what sex partner they prefer. Human being are the same all over the world. That is why God commanded that “WE LOVE ONE ANOTHER”. HE DID NOT PUT EXCEPTIONS ON THAT COMMANDMENT.
