George W. Bush interview about 11 September 2001
The ex-President George W. Bush gave an interview to National Geographic where he is telling for the first time how was the day of 11 September 2001 for him. The interview was made shortly after the death of Osama Bin Laden at almost 10 years from the attacks of the twin towers from New York and the Pentagon from Washington.

His speech seems cold, with no emotions. The ex-President also serenely admits the mistakes he did after 11 September 2001.

Mistake no1: George Bush ignored the first plane that crashed in the World Trade Center tower assuming it was just an accident
George Bush says that the morning of 11 September 2001 seemed a “very normal day”. ”I was in Florida during a stage of the education reform. At 6.30 I walked out of the hotel, to run. Then I headed towards a school to meet the students.”
“Before I entered in the class I was informed that a plane crashed in one of the towers. My first thought was that is a small plane that had an accident because of the bad weather or the pilot did something wrong. I told my people to take care of this incident and then I entered in the classroom.”

In the class the President couldn’t focus. ”I felt a presence behind me” remembers Bush. Andrew Card that was the secretary of transports entered in the classroom and told the President:”A second plane crashed in the World Trade Center. America is under attack.”
“My first reaction was of anger. Who the hell could do this to us?” says Bush that decides to remain in the class and to read stories with the children. ”The press started to receive calls and all the eyes were on me. So I decided not to hurry. I wanted to defend the children, to keep my calm.”
