Glass Half Way Full

Often times in todays society today the negitivty takes over our mindsets. Instead of being greatful of what we do have we become envious of what we don’t.

People in the U.S. live in the richest country in the world, the U.S consumes most of the earths resources and doesn’t host nearly half of the worlds population. Even though people have the privilege of being born in such a country, people of america still complain about their circumstances.

Its like people of society are so fixated on the problems, that they fail to realize how better off they are then other parts of the world. The citizens of the U.S. cups are perceived to be full compared to plenty third world countries. While we are over here complaining about not being able to afford health care, some people in Africa don’t even receive health care. While we are complaining about being on welfare their are children out in the world that are starving and have not even water or fresh water at that.

Recently I visited Uganda and their is so much suffering that is taking place, children and people dying of aids, starvation, malaria and malnutrition. Unlike the U.S. they do not have the privilege to receive public assistance, and they need the assistance badly. Their glass is empty but they still have hope for a brighter future. Unlike our society they stay positive despite the fact that they have nothing. Has the U.S. become so spoiled that they no longer are appreciative of what they do have.

An example would be to go home and criticize your child because she left the pot in the sink, and not recognize that she cleaned the rest of the kitchen. Your focusing on that one pot and not rejoicingthat she took it upon herself to clean up the kitchen. That is the type of mentality that society has today, and some could argue that the U.S. is selfish. Also that they are only concerned with their own problems and they fail to see that their glass is half full. So instead of constantly complaining and being “Debbie Downers” maybe we should rejoice and be thank full because God has blessed the U.S.A.

Very nice share. We often forget to be grateful and stop to acknowledge the suffering of others.
