Nowadays, the problem of global warming in Hong Kong is becoming worse. Concerning the problem, the government is now planning the corresponding countermeasures. In my point of view, I think all citizens in Hong Kong have the responsibility to care about the environment.

With the development of a city, social problems are gradually found. In Hong Kong, the problem of global warming is the one which we need to worry about. There are many factors which cause global warming. However, human activities are always the major factor and are one of the factors that we can control. From time to time, deforestation is becoming more serious. Trees are cut for different purposes, such as commercial use. This affects the amount of carbon dioxide in the air and thus causing global warming. In addition, factories give out greenhouse gases and make the environment worse.

Some people may think that global warming is not a serious problem. Yet, global warming can cause extreme weather and natural hazards like flooding and drought. Since the global temperature is rose due to global warming, polar ice melts and thus causing flooding. All these are situation that we don’t want to see. Therefore, I think we must do something to prevent the global warming problem from becoming worse.

In fact, as a citizen, we can also help to care about the environment. In our daily life, we can use energy efficiently in order to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases. For instance, use air-conditioner when necessary, switch off electrical appliances when they are not in use. It is as easy as that.

Besides citizens, I think it is essential for the government of Hong Kong to help prevent global warming. The government of a city, in fact, is the leader. So, the government should lead the city and make a good example for citizens. To my opinion, I think education is important and useful for the mass. After educating the public, citizens will understand the situation and know what should be done in order to make the environment better. This builds up the direction for the mass to follow.

Lastly, the problem of global warming is essential for us to take care with. I hope the government can lead the mass and build up a healthy environment in Hong Kong.
