Global Warming
About global warming.

Man’s use of fossil fuels namely coal, oil and natural gas, together with deforestation have increased the concentration of atmospheric carbon-di-oxide, a heat trapping ‘ green house ‘ gas. This has begun the process of man-made climate change.
This over use of fossil fuels has led to increase in higher temperatures. This may lead to many consequences.
Since these ‘ green house ‘ gases are being released, they are reacting with the ozone layer, making holes in it. This allows harmful ultra violet (UV) radiation to enter. This UV radiation can cause skin cancer, affect the eyes and our immunity system.
Droughts and floods are another major problem. Due to global warming, the amount of rainwater falling in an area can change drastically. Therefore, some places can start flooding while other places have water-scarcity.
This can also affect many ecosystems. In certain reptiles such as the crocodilian species, the sex of the egg depends upon the temperature; there will be more males and females in the ecosystem. This means there will be less territory for each crocodile since they are territorial. This will lead to a shortage of food. This will affect the crocodilian population. This in turn will affect the food chain, which will affect the ecosystem. this is a problem world-wide and we must remember,” We did not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrowed it from our children.” said by a great man.
