Global Warming or Just Plain Nonsense?

Another opinion on an inexact science.

Okay, enough already.  How much more of this media driven propaganda can we absorb before we all start retching and throwing up?  We have, as always, a golden opportunity to either embrace or ignore absolutely all the stuff that is a constant filler in all matters media.  Perhaps we  should examine the hysteria and the reasons for all the hype.

Is the sky falling?  Are we destined to die, or worse still, are we to watch the next generation curl up and blow away while we, the current crop of oldsters, observe from a safe distance, comfortably surrounded in luxury?  Truly, a big question.

Not too many years ago, a learned scientist wrote and had published an opinion founded on pure scientific research.  In that published opinion he warned that life as we know it, sustained by the beneficial warmth of the sun, would cease in approximately 250,000 years.  Run!  Hide!  Panic!  Only another one quarter of a million years and we won’t be able to enjoy life on earth anymore.  Fortunately, the media didn’t fasten onto that bit of trivia, otherwise we would  have to endure the next 250,000 years with some form of media reminding us that indeed, the sky is falling.

So, what is the next step?  Or perhaps there are many steps, or none at all.

Of course the world is changing.  We have grown from a mythical beginning, writ in large letters in a most important book, the contents of which are believed absolutely by many who might commit war against others in support of all that is written in that book.  I digress.  The fact is that a whole bunch of people believe with ablolute certainty that the population of the entire word is related to a couple who started their own lives from dust and a rib and a naughty snake.  Interesting.  No illogic there.  And here we are, depending on who is actually counting.  One couple to six billion wandering bodies.  Did the world change during all this activity?

Pollution?  Of couse there’s lots of stuff we are doing that we probably shouldn’t be doing.  Did that first couple, let’s call them Adam and Eve; did they have electric lights, and hot tubs, and stuff life that?  Doubt it.  Did they even need an electric blanket?  Doubt that, too.  And automobiles?  There must have been a lot of raw material around to meet their needs.  Of course, there was no science then, was there?  Just the beginning of global warming.  Ask Gore, he’ll tell you.  He must have read the same book because he seems to have set out to write his own book of fables.  It must be comforting him to know that he has hordes of clear thinking mobs to protest whatever is going on.  Don’t they have jobs to go to?
