Global Warming: The Final Scene

The issue on “Global Warming” has become popular due to given heightened attention in the society today.

The Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere is important because it maintains a state of balance. It serves as sustaining element to plants and all forms of vegetation as well. However, too much concentration Carbon Dioxide in the air could mean more heat trapped in the atmosphere, hence, the increase in temperature resulting to impending global warming and climatic changes.

There has been a notable increase of Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere since the early 70’s. Deep reliance to fossil fuels by the global industries had greatly contributed to rising phenomena. More Carbon Dioxide deposited in the air means corresponding increase of heat in the atmosphere.

Climatic conditions in many parts of the world have become unpredictable and unprecedented. For example, in tropical countries like the Philippines, weather conditions could then easily predicted during the early times by just a simple stare in the calendar. Normally, rainy season starts from the months of May to August and dry season from March to April. The rest of the months in the year are considered fair weather.

But continued climatic observations reveal an altered weather conditions existing. There were months in the past that heavy rains were experienced during summer season and extreme hotness during wet season. Massive floods and heat wave has become very common scenario.

What is the culprit to these scenarios today? Just to name two major causes, are: over production and too much consumption of goods and massive deforestation in the world today.

Over production and consumption of goods leads to excessive use of energy from different sources, in particular, fossil fuel. As these fuels are burned, too much Carbon Dioxide is released on the atmosphere.

On the other hand, Oxygen elements produced by the trees neutralize the Carbon Dioxide to create a state of balance. However, massive illegal logging in many parts of the world had seriously threatened this situation.

Has mankind reached the foretold end of the world? Can we still do something to alter the pattern or at least delay more destruction?

We can still do a lot of remedies in repairing our ecosystem. By following the 3R’s principle, we can greatly delay the continued degradation of our environment: re-segregation, recycle and reuse of waste materials seem to be a logical answer to the problem.

The end of the world is still very far to consider though imminent and impending as well. However, we can still do a lot of alternatives and remedies. Let us plant more trees to help maintain state of balance in the air and change our consuming lifestyle which has primarily caused too much carbon emission in the air. While we can no longer bring back the former sate of rigorousness of our ecosystem, but we can still sustain and develop what remains at hand to improve life in the future.

Until yesterday it was only warnings, but now we face the reality of uncertainty looming above us. Global warming is taking its toll in different forms such as unexpected floods, greenery turning to deserts and worst is still to come.
