Golf Balls Killed The Loch Ness Monster
Some environmentalist say with with over 300 million golf balls going missing every year that golf balls are humanity’s "Signature Litter."
In world war two some of the soldiers used leave the saying “Kilroy was here” wherever they went. It became a sign that the United States military had occupied a particular spot for some amount of time.
The British like to say that cricket is synonymous with civilization. Since we here in the United States don’t play cricket I guess we can infer what they think of us.
Now we are told that there are so many lost or thrown away golf balls all over the planet that the way in which an alien visitor will know that humanity was here is to find some golf balls. Golf balls are now our “signature litter.”
Also in the news lately is the idea that the group known as PETA–People for the ethical treatment of animals–is at war with Nobel Prize Winner Al Gore. It seems that Al Gore refuses to give up eating meat. Even though organizations that both Al Gore and PETA agree with have stated that the amount of resources required to produce meat and the amount of pollution produced by farming meat makes it’s environmental impact 20 times worse than driving a truck, still Al Gore can not kick his addiction to the flesh.
It would appear the the west in general and the United States in general is under assault for our life style. Rather than being looked at as an economic engine and a last ditch guarantor or freedom, those on the left, especially the environmental left look upon the US as a symbol of all that is wrong with the world.
Well Obama, Pelosi, and Reid intend to change all of that and redistribute all our wealth to anyone who is not us. I wonder if the US voters will like that. After it’s all done, it will be too late to object so it may not matter whether we like it our not.
