Gordon Brown Slips Off His Pedestal!

The leader of the Labour party, accidentally insults one of his voters! were you surprised I wasn’t and I’ll explain why.

Gordon Brown slips off his pedestal!

As you have probably heard, Gordon Brown the leader of the Labour party had to make a personal apology to Gillian Duffy a 65 year old pensioner from Rochdale in England.  I saw the news breaking more or less as it happened.

Gordon Brown and his party political entourage were visiting Rochdale to spread the word on their manifesto for the Labour party.  The general election in Great Britain takes place on Thursday 6th of may 2010.  Mr Brown was carrying out a staged walk-about, which involved meeting selected members of the public, including Gillian Duffy.  M/s Duffy’s questions were on immigration.

Gordon Brown talking to Gillian Duffy.

Mr Brown and M/s Duffy were in conversation for just a short while.  Mr Brown then proceeded to get back into his car with his entourage, ready to move onto his next engagement.  However Mr brown had forgotten he still had his wire-less microphone attached to his lapel!

Gordon Brown spoke to his colleagues about his conversation with Gillian Duffy and he said   “It was a disaster” and further went onto say  “She is a bigoted woman!” Unfortunately his conversation was picked up by the media via his wire-less microphone!

He will be packing up his desk soon.

The news of Gordon Brown’s leaked opinion of Gillian Duffy was beamed around the world before Gordon Brown even made his next engagement.  Gordon Brown subsequently apologised on BBC Radio 2.  Further to this Gordon Brown drove to M/s Duffy’s house and personally apologised for his rude remarks about her.

Afterwards Gillian Duffy said she would not be voting Labour.  Who in all honesty can blame her?  If I found out some one had that opinion of me I would not vote for them either.  However why are people so surprised? I wasn’t.  After the expenses scandal which has rocked the whole British political system why are we still surprised.

M’ Lord…yes, I agree wholeheartedly with your assessment of Prime Minister Brown…his days at No. 10 Downing Street are certainly numbered. It was nice of him to go and personally apologize to Ms. Duffy but did he apologize because he was sorry or because he got caught…I would be inclined to think it is the latter…hear he hasn’t done all that well in the televised debates either, including last night…the times they are a changing and you in the UK are about to undergo another one…Thanks for the article…informative and very timely…I voted that I liked it…
