Ground Zero Mosque Will Only Attract More Violence

This is why it should not be built in this location…

There is great debate and controversy over the Muslim mosque that is to be built very near ground zero, in Manhattan. The morning of September 11, 2001 was the last time that the twin towers would be seen, rising above the skyline of New York. The mosque that is to be built very near ground zero, was just given the thumbs up, by President Obama. Many, many Americans are beside themselves with rage about this and its something that needs to be discussed.

This is a multifaceted problem and the media in the United States is really playing into the sides that are making it worse. They are focusing on the average American who is enraged, and our President who is focusing on the “freedom of worship” mantra. Well guess what? That is only part of the story…big surprise.

Personally, I’m not religious. I also don’t agree with the religion of Islam, specifically. However, I’m the biggest supporter of freedom of religion and worship, that you will ever meet. I believe it is just as important as freedom of speech and our right to lawfully own guns. However, I do not believe that mosque should be built at ground zero.

Like a growing number of Americans, I do not believe the “official story” behind “9-11″. And because of that, a mosque at ground zero should mean nothing to me. But it does. The problem here is that most of my fellow Americans (of every race, color, nationality and religion), DO believe the “official story” behind “9-11″.

As an American who only wants to see peace in her country and in the world, I do not believe the mosque should be built because I think it will be a target for violence. I think this is the reason why our government officials (the ones we supposedly employ to keep things running smoothly) should stop this from being built in this location. It feels like another attempt to keep people’s anger flared up, and for that reason, they need to move the mosque plans, a few more blocks down the road. I can see NOTHING good coming out of this, for any American, of any religion.
