Groupthink in Society
Some deep thoughts about our society here…you’ve been forewarned, not for the sensitive.
Denying any sense of guilt eventually breaks our will to live. Break or be broken? It’s not as simple as that, when you tie your own fate and suffering, to that of others. The world suffers enough without our pain, but how can survival and change be upheld with no conflict? Our reasoning is of course flawless about how to carry us away from the “brink of disaster”. Is the majority right, that “bigger is better”, “medicate for any problem”, and “everyone for him/herself?
How can anything real be created or appreciated, when this course only breeds a garish caricature of human life, in the form of a mechanized, neon, larger-than-life redheaded clown? How about moving pictures on a billboard proclaiming to “BUY NOW!” When will the ticket price be enough for us to stop wagering our freedoms and soul away? I expect, not until we truly see all these seemingly rightful privileges being taken away, and our consumer livelihood eroding due to the lack of resources that were once so plentiful.
