Gun polices are controversial and reflect two perspectives of gun control or the constitutional right to bear arms. These proposed and enacted gun polices of control change directly reflect the voice of the people who want this change to take place. It is a important issue and is to peered into to understand the fundamental differences of opinion and gun control policies and the impact it has on the country of America.  These gun policies affect the criminal justice system as well as the impact felt on the freedom of U.S. citizens.  It has a root into our historical birth as a nation and as our country has evolved, so has thinking and policies.  This is a look back and also the present for gun controls and possible effects on ones rights in the future. The different point of views will also give one a better understanding of why they think and feel the way they do regarding gun policies. The contrasting and separate ideas will be examined.

Gun control advocates believe that banning guns keep guns out of the hands of the criminals. Their perspective is of crime control.  Take control of who is allowed to own guns and you have effectively cut down on the amount of guns floating around getting in the hands of criminals and juveniles and gangs, etc… An example is the violence involving drive by shootings involving gangs, such as the “crips or bloods” in Los Angles and the sometimes or often death of an innocent victim in the line of fire.   They have destroyed communities and contribute to tearing them apart with the gun violence and rate of homicide in the communities.

Another example is motor cycle gangs and the use of guns.  Say that an notorious motor cycle gang sets of head quarters in a community and then proceeds to wreck violent havoc there.  About twenty five years or so ago in a community of Guyandotte (part of Huntington, WV) there was a group particularly violent gang known as the Avengers. They would publicly fight in the day time on the street and commit their offenses.  There were also two brothers who were found dead in their van after being shot to death.  This was thought to be related to their known criminal acts.  This expands on the use of guns used to commit homicide.
