Gun to My Head

Guns and Children.

The world today, the guns that children and teens are able to get hold of and play around with.  I find it profoundly disgusting, and I feel that the government needs to step in and have more rules and regulations about who has guns.

How many teens do you see laying on the side of the road now days, how many drive by shootings do you hear about almost each and every day.  How many of our young youth has to lose their live by accidental shootings, or suicides due to guns.

How many adults have a gun in their house?  Are they locked up to where the children cant find them, are their children safe when they are not at home to protect them.

My father had a gun, a couple in fact, a handgun and a rifle for hunting.  The guns were not locked up, and were easily accessible if I wanted to get to it.  And one day I checked out the gun that was in his bedroom dresser.  I opened and looked at it, but did not touch it, did not quite have the nerve to do that.  But at another time, when I got scared, I almost went and got it out, what if it was loaded, what if I had accidentally shot someone, or myself.  Things like this seem to happen almost each and every day, and most of the time it seems like it is for useless reasons in the long run.  A show on TV the other night, talking about how gang members go out and kill each other just to so called, own, a corner on a street.  It just seems like it is never ending at times.

How many adolescents in our country, play around with guns and they accidentally go off and they kill themselves or someone else.  It happens way too many times.  I know of friends who have died by accidentally shooting themselves while cleaning a gun, or playing around with their parents gun.

“How about when you come home from school one day, you go to open the door, someone opens it from inside, and you find that you have a handgun pointed at your head, and they click it!”

WTF are you talking about? You say that like it’s a common occurrence. The person doing that would be arrested and thrown in jail. And you haven’t suggested a solution. I’m pretty sure in California the law requires you to keep guns loaded guns locked if you have children…

For your information, this did happen just as I said. For a fact, it was my cousin who did it to me!!! He was playing with my fathers handgun that he took out of a drawer, and this was about 35 years ago, and laws were not as strict then about being locked up!!! So no “WTF” you talking about, I never told my parents my cousin did this, as he used to always harass me in one way or another.. I was scared of him guess you could say…. So before you judge, make sure of what your judging on!
The overall article was to state that guns are to this day easily available to children, if not.. why do we hear of children walking into schools with handguns and rifles and killing students and teachers!!!
