Handling Items Positively
Are you part of the problem or the solution?
Are you part of the problem or the solution? Do you strike back to someone when they are mean to you? If so, why not try breathing and just walk away. Being ignored will upset them more than the desired loud response they wanted.
Children are good sometimes, but they are kids. And they will be naturally annoying during this holiday season. The hardest thing I ever found to do was to be positive to get them to behave. Timeout is much more effective than the spankings with the metal embellished belts we always received. And the resulting bruises and sores were the equivalent of some definitions of child abuse. But we lived. But, in my case, the buck stopped with me. No belts around me. It is just so bad to have negative connotations to anything with youngsters. Growing up should be a happy time, and a pain free experience.
What about the elderly who can no longer remember who they are? I have several buddies that I meet again every year when I visit them for the holidays. Their long term memory is good. But short term is non existent. So we just meet again and have a pleasant experience. After all, it is just once a year. Nursing home residents I am familiar with are always wonderfully grateful to see me. Any company is so appreciated. And they are great to listen to. Talk about a live, interactive history lesson. Most of them lived through more history than I studied in two years in high school. And it is from a great perspective, the average person. You cannot get any more real than that. And you do not have to take notes. And it is so captivating. Just ask them any question and sit back to relax for a great story.
