It’s a topic that people across the country are talking about, and the big debate over health care has begun. What will it take to reform health care for the good of the american people so that everyone has access to medical care when needed? There are so many aspects and angles tied into the health care system controversy, and everyone has some type of solution for a problem that has plagued our country for decades. Nothing ever gets done no matter what political party is in control! We take one step forward and three steps back! We’re seeing people around the country protesting and carrying political signs and often times getting into physical altercations because people are divided on this issue.

Our  health care system in America clearly needs an overhaul as more and more citizens are finding themselves in the emergency room without insurance and the means to pay for care. President Barack Obama is attempting to pass health care reform so that every American can have access to health care which would include pre-existing conditions. This is a major task for the president to accomplish, but if a new health care bill gets passed through congress, everyonewould benefit. The question is how do we get there? Ultimately, both the Democratic and Republican parties need to stop worrying about personal agendas, future re-election promises or anything else that is irrelavant and pass a new health care bill with input and ideas from both political parties and restore the public’s confidence in our government. As americans, many of us have lost  confidence in our government because it seems that it’s all about which party is in power at the moment and what can the other party do to get more votes in the next election to take back the leadership!

Health care reform needs to happen at some level. Our political leaders should quickly find a path for this to take place and do it now! If we’re smart enough to have a health care system in place, then we’re smart enough to make it better for everyone. Our current healthcare program clearly doesn’t work for most americans and it’s only getting worse! We need less fighting and debate, and more compromise and determination. No matter what your beliefs are or your party affiliation, we need to step back, take a deep breath, and just solve this problem with intelligence.
