How Do You Feel About Class Reunions: Torture or Punishment
What is your reasons for not wanting to go to your class reunion?
*My opinion counts too:
*How do you feel about class reunions:
Is there any one person who will give an honest answer on this question…are they hiding inner feelings? Some people might say it’s torture, others may say it’s sheer punishment…what’s your feelings? The reason many of these people decline to attend their class reunions are because they think they will be the only one there who has gained weight, lost their hair, aged, and looks totally different than they did when they were young. Some feel there’s nothing they can do to prepare themselves to “look” like they once did.
You also have those people who wouldn’t miss a class reunion if they had to be carried in on someone’s shoulders. As for me, there’s nothing more pleasant than to see my old classmates and to see how they have been doing in their lives. It’s great to re-hash old times and to have those belly laughs about some of the exciting things we did together.
*What do people do to prepare for a class reunion?:
A lot of people will spend weeks preparing for their class reunion. They’ll go on diets, exercise themselves to death, dye their hair, spend days at a spa, and other various things to improve the way they look. This sort of thing does not affect me one bit because we all have to face age head-on, but it would be nice to get the end results the people who do so much acquires.
*Time does change everyone:
There are many people who say, “I’d prefer not to go to the class reunion because I’m not the same person as I was then.” Might I ask, you are still in that same “old frame” aren’t you? Well, you’re the same person you always was and we accept people for who they are and not how they look. These are people we have a special bond with and who brought laughter, enjoyment, and friendship into our lives as youngsters.
Others might say, “Hey, I have nothing in common with those people anymore, can’t you see I’m in a different social atmosphere than the others are…”I’m the CEO of the John Doe Company.” Who do you think you are kidding, you get into your pants just like you did back in your school days and you are “no” better than any of your classmates?
*Treasured memories:
How anyone cannot want to see their old friends, especially their classmates, and re-visit with them and re-live those precious memories for just awhile. How can we want to toss something that was so valuable to us in our young years to the curb and not have a desire to see them? Our classmates memories are some of the best memories in life because we shared a closeness with many of these friends and they become almost like a sibling. There was an inter-personal relationship there that should have bonded us for life and not wanting to see them…I cannot understand.
*Summation:
In my opinion, class reunions are fantastic and they are important to my heart and soul

. The sharing, closeness, friendships, and admiration for each one of them could never be replaced in my life

The question is, “How do you feel about class reunions?” Well since you asked….
Umm, you must have had a good experience in school. Not everyone did, did you realize that? Can you see past your own self and try to grasp that others have very good reasons why they feel a reunion would be incredible torture? Congrats to you that you have precious memories, happy for you. There are others like me who are glad to have moved on.
