How I Would Fix Healthcare in America
In this article I write about requirring people on government assistance to work, the unisured paying up front before recieving treatment, and other ideas that could reduce cost in healtcare.
All people on a government health plan would be required to attend and pass a “money management course”. Many are good at buying cell phones, plasma TVs, and other luxuries but they will not buy health insurance.
My goals would be two fold in my healthcare program. Employed people shop. By increasing corporate income, shoppers also increase tax revenues. These means people would be paying for their own healthcare. “Ain’t” I the smart one?
Second, by requiring people to do more then get a hand out I would be empowering people to become self sufficient. Accomplishment breeds confidence. In our modern government assistance programs, a person has to be destitute in order to receive assistance. We should not be surprised that people put on the coat of poverty in order to get assistance. After all this is what is required.
Moreover, today, the 25% or so who are suffering from severe mental duress are also straining the system of government programs. Some thing needs to be done about this fact. Being a formal student of human psychology, I know we can use our smart brain to develop a positive and healthy program to reduce mental duress and empower people to provide for them selves.
The reason I am a good business manager is that I can add, subtract, and understand human behavior. Obama does not have these qualities. We want to make government assistance unattractive, reinforce self-sufficiency and personal responsibility, and reduce the cost of government.
As long as there are unprepared, parents there will people with traumas, low self-esteem, psychological illness, and other complexities. These facts complicate all our lives. We have to be mature enough to understand that we help our selves by helping them. In addition, we are smart enough to develop a program were we empower people with confidence and the necessary skills to meet the challenges in life.
What I am doing is right. I drive my self to have business success. This means I have to stay put in my taxi until I generate the necessary income to maintain my business and provide for my life needs. At the end of September, I will be moving to a less expensive apartment with this goal in mind.
This is Obama’s error. He does not respect people like me. In addition, he thinks that people cannot do it for them selves. I know that more is gained in society when people are challenged. I would have no problem challenging a person with depression, low self-esteem, drug abuse, a negative and bad attitude, or any other element that complicates his or her life.
In closing, the idea of private citizens working to support a free market system in order to provide for them selves as they finance their government is a good idea. In my mind, it is the only idea that allows for opportunity, progress, achievement, liberty, and a government that serves the people with respect and sanity.
One final final thought is to have innovative individuals form clinics that through low monthly payments provide lower priced healthcare and education in healthy living. In my opinion, doctors and leaders of healthcare facilities are charging too much. There is not anything wrong with making money. However, how much money does a person need?
If a person is living the “consumption vida loca”, then a lot is required to pay his or her bills. Maybe some doctors need to stop trying to have it all and try to fashion a health clinic that provides affordable healthcare and gives the doctors a decent life. In addition, a cooperative of doctors could run hospitals and instead of patients sending their money to health insurance companies, they could make monthly payments to the hospitals these doctors own and operate.
