You have to make sure that this is a person you could see yourself walking down the isle with and raising your children. While there is no guarantee one hundred percent, some things have been known to be common denominators in successful and happy families. The male counterpart should be financially and mentally stable. He should be a legal resident of the country they reside in, and should also have their family living in that same country. Basically, they should not be traveling all the time and have the desire to be grounded in one place and raise a family. This person should not smoke or drink. They should take care of their physical health and generally have a positive attitude on life. They should be mature, responsible, caring, and understanding. Above all, they should be willing and able to make your happiness and well being a priority in their lives. There is no room for selfishness. They should know the meaning of compromise.
