Immigration Issues
My personal views of Immigration.
I think the the immigration issue is one that should be discussed in political debates, because it is important for the citizens to see how the presidential candidate stands before they elect him, or her, as the next president of the United States. However, I can also understand why they would not want to talk about it. If they do not talk about it then they would not loose any votes from Mexican- American’s or any other American that might think that immigration is right and should be legal.
I also found it interesting how they would “hammer” each other for things that they might have voted for when they were in the senate, or something that they might have said about immigration a long time ago. I sometimes wish I could walk up to them and tell them that people do have the right to change their mind. If they say one thing to one group, then another thing to a different group, I can see why the opposing candidate would get mad and accuse one another. That would mean that they were just trying to please the separate groups and get their vote. Which is also one my biggest pet peeves that always happens during the presidential election season.
I noticed while reading one of the articles from a while back that they try to have the same views, maybe until it gets closer to voting time, but for the most part at the beginning of nomination’s the potential nominees all had the same bland views on the immigration issue.
Either way you look at it, both candidates can’t seem to make up their mind about the immigration issue. Immigration is one of those things you don’t talk about publicly, along with religion and money.
