Infant Deaths Should be Investigated Further
A top senior coroner has stated that more baby deaths should be reported and investigated more to local coroners.

A call for neonatal deaths to be more consistently investigated has come from a senior coroner.
According to John Pollard, all deaths of babies should be reported to local coroners, or if the infant death was in Scotland, to the procurator fiscal.
The current trend is that infant deaths that fall under the sudden, violent or unnatural to be reported.
However, despite this call from Pollard, the Coroners Society states that it could not direct its members to follow a particular practice of reporting.
On average 17 babies a day die in the UK alone, this at birth or within the first four weeks of their lives.

Excellent and informative. I totally agree. This is still shocking for many people. I do agree that infant death syndrome should be investigated further. It’s just so weird and poor parents. Imagine how they must feel after their loss.
