Interracial Couples- Is It Okay?

Discussion of the opinions on interracial couples:

It is seeming to be more common in this day and age that interracial couples are acceptable. There is such diversity in the world. People have began to mix races in dating, marrying, and even having children. The question is: Is it okay?

Many will say that it is morally wrong. According to the Bible, we are supposed to stay within our own race. The United States Constitution states that we have the right to be with anyone we want, no matter what skin color he or she has. Society is becoming more acceptant about this issue.

I personally do not agree with this. When two races mix and have a baby, that baby is now torn between the races for the rest of his or her life. It makes it hard on the child to fit in, as if it isn’t hard enough already. As the child gets older and begins to date, he or she may be confused on what race to turn to. It leads to a life of misfit.

There is nothing wrong with loving who you love. You must pay for the consequences of that decision though. You are affecting someone else’s life when you make the decision to affect your own.

Absurd all round the board. First of all, the \”bible,\” was not written in English, it has been translated, some words, by which do not translate from one language to another. Secondly, some of the words were (are) unknown from one language to the next so \”approximations,\” (madeup and assumed) were added as such with some words even dropped altogether to avoid confusion (I urge you to look this up if this book is important to you.) Next, humans don\’t come in other races – Just cultures and adaptions (read – we\’re not dogs mixing with fish here). Furthermore, as a \”mixed race\” person (speaking for many like me), we are not confused, we are enriched by our heritages – it is the insular, behind-the-times mentalities that still number way to many in the US that choose to insist otherwise. We also tend to be a much more robust lot, not suffering from many of the maladies that effect people that stay within their adaptions. I do not respect your opinion, but I do believe that you are entitled to it, even if it is neither valid nor sound. Happy holidays!

Wow. You really have put things into perspective here. I don’t really give a rats about the Bible honestly. I just know what I have been taught in Sunday school in a country little church. I wanted to see this subject matter from all view points. It is obviously very personal for you. If I myself were an interracial I wouldn’t handle it as well as you. I respect that you are strong in your opinion. That’s a good quality to have.
You can’t speak for every single interracial person out there though. I have several interracial friends. They’ve shared with me some of their experiences. They’ve had trouble in the dating world due to the fact that they are a mixed race.
I am not saying that it is wrong. I am just saying that sometimes you will be treated differently.
