Islam and Terrorism

I am a Muslim, and though I am not an ayatollah of our religion, I respect it and abide by its doctrine, ISLAM.  I am baffled by the negativity bestowed upon Muslims on the name of Islam and Terrorism. A friend of mine (A Muslim) came from States and we met few times during his visit to Karachi. While he was open to admit that over all in USA the majority of people have no problem with Muslims but he said that most people there get uncomfortable with the mentioning of the term Islam as they link the faith with terrorism.  My friend contributes this irritation to the word Islam with the continuous media and Government Campaign to Malign Islam and Muslims.

Western Media and Islam:

With the tragic incident of 9/11 the Western Media went in frenzy on the religion Islam. The religion which proliferate peace and serenity came under hell, fire and brimstone. From Fox News breaking telecasts to CNN cries of Islamic Savageries propaganda, the populace was systematically fed with hatred of Islam and Islamic Terrorism.  Sublimation tactics went on air frequently; from cartoons to sitcoms to talk shows and movies, people were being fed the threat of Islamic Terrorism. How can one relate the term terrorism to Islam? Individuals with twisted believes commit heinous acts, this does not earn others the right to label a Religion. I have yet to hear Christianity Terrorism, or ‘Jews Agenda’ but the term Islamic Terrorism and Muslim Terrorists roams around freely in western media.

Western Government and Islam:

The words of the President of USA after tragedy hit 9/11 was can we bring in ‘IRAQ’ for this crime. People are generally patriots, even those who don’t show much nationalism to their country would voice their opinions in favor of their country when asked for. This leads to ignorance and unawareness. While the western government have thousands of Agenda’s in war against Islam, people in west generally turns a blind eye to it. The Government bestowed ‘war against terrorism’ and apologizes to the millions of men, women and children who got bombed and killed in the name of collateral damage.  Ironically the modern world genocide of the Islamic populous goes unnoticed. The western government, their Muslim allies and the many contracts they mend out of war goes unobserved as well.
