Learn How Mice are Not Bad Creatures That Should be Feared or Hated
Learn how mice are not despicable rodents.
Have you always been afraid of mice? Do you hate them and see them as slimy, trouble-making rodents? I used to have a fear and hatred for mice. Based on the personal experiences I have had with mice over the last few years, I can attest that there is little if any need to fear them. By reading this article, you will learn how mice are not bad creatures we should fear.
From what I have personally experienced, mice do not bother people. Several years ago, I was in my backyard when I had my first encounter with a mouse. As I was standing in front of our storeroom, a mouse came through the opening that is at the bottom of the door and ran past me. I was shocked that the mouse did not do anything to me because I had previously thought that mice and rats were obnoxious carriers of diseases who posed a serious threat to humans.
My opinion that mice might not have a natural tendency to be destructive or harmful to people was recently reinforced by an unexpected guest. This uninvited guest was a mouse.
Over a month ago, my family and I started experiencing life in the house with a mouse. Late one night, I went into my bedroom and saw a blurry motion. At first, I thought I was just imagining things; consequently, I continued doing my normal activities such as using my computer. Several minutes after seeing that blurry motion, I saw something run past my drawer.
As I was sure that I saw a small creature run past my drawer at a fast speed, I rose from the chair I sit on at my computer desk to see exactly what it was. A few seconds later, I clearly saw a mouse come from behind my desk and run past the back of my bed along the wall. Becoming nervous about having a mouse in the house, I let my father and brother know that a mouse was in my room. I subsequently moved almost everything that was on the floor onto my bed and pulled the bed out in hopes of finding and catching the mouse.
I did not see the mouse again that night. My brother bought two different types of mice traps that are designed to kill mice and my father bought a type of mice trap that simply traps a mouse for the purpose of providing you the opportunity to release it unharmed. All of the traps have been baited with peanut butter and cheese.
My father, brother, mother and I have only seen the mouse about once a week and it never makes a sound. This is amazing in my opinion, considering that I used to think mice make a lot of squeaking noises. When we see the mouse or it sees us, it runs into a hiding place. Surprisingly, the mouse did not chew through a wall or door to enter our house and it has not bothered us or eaten any of our food. Additionally, the mouse has not been lured into any of our mice traps.
In my opinion, the mouse is amazing and harmless. I hope we can trap it and let it go. I have come to admire mice and see that they are not as bad or destructive as many people think they are; in fact, I think they are creatures that fear humans and try to avoid them.
You have learned how mice do not have a natural tendency to be harmful or destructive to people and their homes.
