Legalization: Is The United States Ready?

This article is about the legalization of marijuana. This article will contain the pros and cons about the economic and personal use as well as the criminal side of the substance.

Its very obvious that marijuana is illegal. The government spends billions of tax money to try to combat this drug. Can a drug that is natural actually be so bad that possesion can land you in prison? Can it be used for medical and personal use reponsibly. Does it have any health issues such as lung problems and brain damage. Will it be worth it to legalize marijuana and tax it? Please continue to read and find out.

Did you know that hundred if not thousands of people go to prison for possesion of marijuana? Thats right, normal people got to prison just because of possesion (not selling). Why? Because its illegal. Some of these people need this drug to help them through their day to day life. Imagine if you had degenerative disc disease, this particular disease causes unberable pain. Now if you could have a medicine that is natural and had little to no side effects wouldnt you take it?

The personal use of cannabis isnt as important, but it still comes down to the right for people to decide what they do and do not want to put into their bodies. The side effects of personal use varries from person to person. The responsible ones will be less likely to suffer from these side effects as compared to abusers. Marijuana if smoked through a pipe or a paper can cause lung damage, but if smoked through a vaporizer or water pipe this will be darastically. Another side effect I found was with brain damage. With heavy long-term usage cannabis will cause brain damage, on the other hand so will alcohol. Cannabis has no physical addiction, the only addiction is the mental addiction.

Imagine a country that is near completely green. We can achive it with cannabis! Marijuana has a byproduct called hemp. Hemp can be made into almost anything carpet, paint, a cars body, clothes, paper, and even a bio fuel! If we would quit this war now we could cash in on this and save people from overcrowding or prisons, help the ill  and not to mention the cash we would be gaining on taxes. The marijuana industry in america is in the billions, so lets tax it!

I do want to mention that I am in no way a pot-head, I simply do not use marijuana. I think that this plant would help our country out so much that I cannot posibly stop prostesting this prohibition. This is a endless war so take the money out of the drug lords hands and put it into ours!Help the legalization.
