Liar – Know The Signs!
Lying has become a very common thing… but knowing the signs will help you know who is lying.
Everyday, we deal with different people – some we know a lot about, and some who we just have met. Nowadays, more and more people are lying. Hiding the truth has become very easy for a lot of people and it truly hurts those who are being lied especially when they find out the truth.
Now, here are some signs of a lying person. But, first of all, you must make sure you know the person’s baseline. What does this mean? You should know what that person usually does in a normal situation. If you can tell his/her baseline, then it would be a lot easier for you to see if the person is lying to you in certain situations.
1. Eyes. It has always been said that a person who is lying cannot look directly to your eyes. Yes! That’s true! It is because “eyes are windows to the soul”. When a person is lying, or not telling the whole truth, or is hiding something, he/she cannot directly look at the eyes of the person he/she is talking with. He/she avoid direct eye contact because he/she feels nervous and just does not feel right.
2. Lips. A person who is hiding something from you or lying or not telling the whole truth will be damping his lips more than usual. It is because the lips are becoming dry due to the intensity of the situation he/she is in. He/she might also bite his/her lip, meaning he/she is holding back something to you.
3. Speech. If a person is not telling the truth or hiding the truth, he/she has the tendency to speak more of words like “ah”, “well”, “uhm”, and other words that will not be direct to the point. Also, he/she sounds nervous or his/her voice sounds tense. He/she might also try to shift the topic because he/she feels uncomfortable.
4. Nose. It has been said that Pinocchio’s nose becomes longer when he lies, and yes, it has a good basis. When a person is nervous, his capillaries tend to grow bigger just like in the nose. Also, a person who is lying or hiding something feels nervous and needs to inhale deeper breaths so there will be a tendency to have a bigger nose apperance.
5. Shoulder. A person not telling the truth or hiding something tends to shrug his/her shoulders. So, if you asked a person about something and he/she shrugs his/her shoulder more than usual, there is a tendency he/she might be lying to you.
6. Hands. If a person is lying, most of the time, they try to not show the palms of their hands. They tend to clsoe their hands together or at least not move their hands as much as possible. They also keep their hands as close to their body as possible. Also, if people moves their hands uneasily, he/she is nervous. Why should he/she be?
7. Body. If he/she turns his body away from you, he/she is avoiding. This may not only be in lying but this might show he/she is not interested in you.
The above clues are not always right, but most of the time, they are. Again, to definitely know if a person is lying, you need to know his/her baseline. Also, you need to consider the topic. He/she might be feeling nervous because the topic might be embarrasing for him/her.
But the most common thing to know if a person is lying is your feelings. You can easily feel it, but do not be so suspicious. Your actions should always be considered well and go well along the situation.
Also, you can use the above things for your own betterment. If you want people to believe you and show more confidence, avoid doing things that may indicate you are nervous or lying.
