Life of Death; It’s Our Choice

A plea for the Earth and our childrens future.

Environment. Instead of making us think of lush rolling hills, green foliage, brimming streams this work now instills fear in every one of our hearts. Have we ruined our environment? How can we help? Is it really that big a problem?

YES! Our children may not live to old age! They might suffer! They might not have children who live to be older than them! Oh these thoughts chill my heart.

So you may be thinking, well it’s all well and good to put on the guilt but how can we help?

By taking a lesson from the sixties. A mere fashion statement turned out to be one of the biggest political movements started by the common folk. The hippie movement. Now I’m not saying to start buying tie dye clothes or wear headbands, burn your bra and call out for peace, no not at all. I am suggesting that as many people as possible, as many mothers, fathers, grandmothers, grandfathers, teachers, political figures, companies, schools get together in a group. In numbers we are strong, we give a large group of members for certain political figures with power to join, we have a loud voice we have power.

This may be a bit of a dream, I do not know how exactly all us like minded ones would group together into one giant group but I do know how we can join smaller groups who make themselves available to be joined by other groups. Google it! Find a group, you hardly have to do anything! If you are a member of a spiritual society bring up this subject in your next meeting. If your child goes to school, make an effort to attend the next P and C meeting and ask what can our children do?

It is necessary, it’s not enough to put our heads in the sand and leave it up to the government, it’s not nearly enough. Be fearful, read up on peer reviewed papers on Google Scholar, this is a very real, very concerning and horribly large problem that you can help! So help before we lose this precious chance.

I have a dream and it is so far fetched I know it can not happen but if we strive hard enough we can at least get close to this goal.

A sustainable future. And how do we achieve this sustainable future? Community awareness and action. Locally grown produce, buy it! Support small companies not giant pollution factories, become an active member in your communities social groups so that you have an audience and preach til you lose your voice. Than we can be living in small functioning communities not dirty murderous cities, not a society built on filth, extinct animals and no water, no air, no life! A society of locally grown food, fresh, toxin free, small supermarkets that are energy efficient. Start a fund for those who can not afford to be energy efficient. Scream at the government for grants to become energy efficient. Strive towards conservation.

If we don’t we die. It’s as simple as that.
