Made in America

I googled "Made In America" to find products made in America. What do you think I found?

I hate to say it but I goggled Made In America and all they had was socks, shoes, jackets ball caps, two pants companies, a pair of exercise shorts, and key-chains. And they had some country singer crooning about a factory he used work in. What a shock! They didn’t even have penny bubblegum! There was a shoe company that had a web site with a button for made-in-America and another button for assembled-in-America, and there was some custom boot companies that made preordered boots. They also offered a small number of jackets. The cheapest tennis shoes they had  made in America  cost $104.00. There was a jeans company in Texas that had maybe four kinds of jeans, mostly woman’s and two kinds for men and a few for children. I saw a company that had about ten tee shirts available for almost twenty dollars each. I hear from various sources now and then there are a lot of things made in America if you just search a little for them and that often they are cheaper than foreign made. Doesn’t look that way today.

Interesting findings… those tennis shoes seem expensive though, if come up as the cheapest price.

    Enjoy the weekend. :)

Hi LadyElena. They were cheapest at the New Balance shoe store web site. They have a made-in-Amerca button and a assembled-in-America button. They have a small number of other stuff. Looks like America is out of busiiness.

I hope you will be, Mary. As a jewelry maker you are a good example of what Americans can do in spite of the ill winds blowing about us.

Hi, littledog. I agree. America is owned by other companies in other countries. But why are they handing us all this mushroom feed? Maybe they will start assembly plants here and then we will have a pay check again. I don’t know if they will or if they intend to shut us down forever. We might have to rebuild from the ground up, if we can. Thanks.

Your article made me do the test for “Made in South Africa” which brought up some pretty interesting stuff – not all tangible products . . .

Hi, elnavann. That does sound interesting to me, too. I’ll try it myself for other places as well. Thanks.

Thanks for the article…i’ve never searched that before. Countries always try to find the cheapest way in making products.

Thanks serenitybubble. It is a price driven market place, mostly, right, when there is competition?
