Majestical Horses: Why Slaughter?
An animal we love and see everyday. An animal that will do anything for its owner. Whether it be to carry them down a trail or race with them on a track. Are you sure you know what becomes of your beautiful hard working horse, once taken to auction? Its called horse slaughter and this is where your horse ends up most of the time.. a slaughter house!

The last three horse slaughter plants in the U.S. were finally shut down. So now where do out horses go? Mexico and Canada for slaughter in over crowded trucks. Trucks that should only carry few horses, will sometimes carry 40 to 60 horses at a time.
Upon their arrival at the slaughter house many are dehydrated, flies buzz open wounds, and still born babies are not an uncommonsight. Some horses are down so weakened to the point they can no longer stand or even rise up. When horses fight back for any reason they are bashed in the head, beaten all over their body and sometimes killed.
All horses no matter the amount are shoved into over crowded pastures, with no food or water. Unknowingly waiting to be killed. Once removed from the pasture the horses are then lined up and moved down a narrow line. At the end a small metal box where they will either be shot in the head with a bolt gun, or stabbed in the spine, then throat cut to bleed out! Although paralyzed, the horse is still alive when taken to bleed out. Horrifying right? Obviously not to them.
The horse meat is then sold over sea’s to Asia and France. If we can send horse meat of all things why not anything else. I’m not saying Beef would be better. But an animal that works so hard for us all its life? Horses are majestic animals born on american land. They spend their final days sick, starving, and suffering. A way no animal should spend its last days.
Please help end horse slaughtering. Its a rediculous murder for an amazing animal. Get rid of all abuse to horses. After all if man kind has to eat them do they have to beat them and starve them? Just imagine if we could do better and close down all horse slaughter plants.
