Media Violence Trains Callous Live Balls of Fire
by Some researchers have demonstrated that very young children will imitate aggressive acts on TV in their play with peers. Before age four, children are unable to distinguish between fact and fantasy and may view violence as an ordinary occurrence. When they see their heroes even in cartoons using violence to achieve victories, it becomes acceptable to them.
The monopoly of the squint-eyed powerful western media has generated misconception about Islam in the minds of the western people by projecting its tarnished image through misinterpretation and misrepresentation of truths. They have been doing their utmost to project Islam as the religion of extremism, fascism and terrorism. The western people bear in their minds the distorted image of Islam, which is flailed into their brains by their prejudiced gurus and the partial media. The predisposed western media controlled by the strong yellow-eyed Jewish and Christian lobby have been infusing hatred against Islam by projecting this religion of peace in unsavory light. Those begrimed people who talk against Islam are hailed heroes. Pencil pusher Sulman Rushdie was awarded the title Knighthood by the British government. The British government turned a blind eye towards religious sentiments of the 1.3 billion Muslims while honoring this hated person of the world. Former Federal Minister of Religious Affairs in Pakistan Ijazul Haq issued statement that suicide bombing to kill the author of “The Satanic Verses” is justified. This statement provided another handy excuse to the western media to further taint the image of Islam.
Ishmael Reed (1938-), U.S. writer and educator said in Reckless Eyeballing (1986), “If violence is as American as apple pie, then Europe provided the oven, because on the public buildings, in the churches, and in the painting there are scenes of violence.”4 Danish newspaper “Jaylland-Posten” published 12 desecrating caricatures depicting Holy Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) that sent a message of disrespect towards the Muslims. Recent republication of these blasphemous sketches has ignited the religious feelings of the Muslims all over the world. Such irresponsible behaviors provide justifications to the religious clergy to exploit the sentiments of the young people having religious inclinations. They can be easily brainwashed to use suicide bombing and other terrorist means to target the western and west-inspired people.
Media violence and xenophobic distortion of facts is as unjustified as backbreaking poverty in the midst of spilling and oozing affluence or as a color spot on the forehead of a Hindu virgin. If one is prepared to clamp a charitable spin on this kind of violence, the only justification happens to be commercial. By flaunting mayhem, mutilation, brutalization and airing of deprecating scandals the media moghuls are raking up fat wads of bank notes. But they should slither out of the cocoon of their penny-scraping mentality and think of the moral grooming of the generations to come. The violence they are generating will have a boom rang impact on their own children and it is most likely that their own progeny will tumble into the trenches of immorality they are digging out for others.
