People use it almost everyday for source of entertainment, and to communicate with one another. Smoking can be caused by many things. Teenagers may smoke because of peers, their parents, or seeing other people do it. People believe that Movies are one of the main causes of teenager smoking because when they see a famous person smoking, they think that them smoking would make them look cool too. The study has shown that 74% of movies contain smoking, and 38% of the people smoked because people in the movie were. People want to do what other people seem to enjoy. Movies inspire teenagers to try smoking, but movies are only a type of media that causes teenagers to try smoking to look cool. Celebrities are the ones who make smoking look cool in the movies because they are the ones who act in the movies.

People often find celebrities inspirational. They tend to think foolishly that the celebrities do the right things because they are in the public. Since lots of actors in movies are famous, and 74% of the movies have smoking inside them, teenagers will see it and try it later on in their life to see if it is ‘cool’ or not. Most of the teenagers, when growing up, will want to be famous when they grow up, and look up to the celebrities who are successful and famous. When teenagers find out that they smoke, and they start to think that it is all right to do it, since their role models are smoking. Celebrities are not the only things that affect people’s behavior.

Lots of people enjoy playing video games, and some people mimic the things to experience if they are fun or not. The article ‘The Gaming Dungeon: The Thai GTA IV tragedy’, it claims that GTA IV has an almost array of humanitarian missions, and that there are few random acts of violence in game. However, it encourages violence, since normal people are targetable and there is a button to steal cars. You are free to do anything that harms other people in the game. This is construed as fun, and as a result, players want to do it when they are playing the game.

Media is full of wonderful and useful things, but it can affect people negatively. Media has the power to change people’s opinion about others, and change even a person’s behavior. The media can influence people enough to encourage them to smoke and to do acts of violence.
