Microsoft Refuses to Use Data From Kinect Users to Announcements

A Microsoft spokesman said that "not use the information for users of Kinect announcements". This clarification has been made after the vice president of marketing the company sowed doubt Yusuf Mehdi stating that "Microsoft can bind part of the online and offline world for advertisers."

A recent Age article revealed Advertising certain comments from Microsoft who claimed that he was planning to sell the information Kinect users to advertisers and other third-party companies.

These statements came specifically the marketing vice president Yusuf Mehdi company and were as follows: “Microsoft can bind part of the online and offline world for advertisers.”

However, these words of Mehdi appear to have been incorrectly interpreted, as stated by a spokesman of the company at Game Front. “The Mehdi Yosuf comments to Ad Age made no reference to Kinect,” said spokesman clarified, “and we have aimed to target ads to a specific audience data based on Kinect.”

Also defended how important this is to them the privacy of users and that “any information from Kinect would be used for advertising unless the user authorizes them”. The spokesman also said that Microsoft have “a strict data protection policy” and that they “will be preserved for next generation product.”
