Mommy I Love You
The love a child has for his mother or father no matter how much he or she neglects and beats him.
Good night mommy I love you!
Mom knowing that the night isn’t going to be a “good” one once daddy comes home. Three o’clock in the morning and here he comes. Drunk and disoriented, he wants to take out his anger and frustration out on the one he smells that fears him. He beats and rapes her, their weekly routine, knowing that she will not involve the police or family. She is terrified and most definitely frightened, she thinks no one will listen to her so she has to vent the only way that she knows how.
Mommy I’m hungry! Go back to sleep is what she tells him. She is tired from the assault she had endured last night. He goes back in his room and lies on the floor and cries loudly. She screams at him telling him to shut up but the crying gets louder. She gets out of bed and goes into his bedroom and beats him with her fists. Squeezing his neck, he gasps for air and she screams to him that he should have shut up when she told him to. Later, he cries himself back to sleep hungry and neglected but he still loves his mother.
She will continue with this type of behavior until she seeks the help that she needs. She is afraid that he will do something really bad to her or their kids if she speaks out. Her family doesn’t see them often because he thinks she will tell them what is going on. She wants out of their marriage so that the cycle of abuse and violence will come to an end before it becomes fatal.
Is it low self-esteem? Do men smell this type of weakness?
Whatever the case may be, I believe that it is based on the individual being and their lifestlye on how they were raised. If you were raised around domestic violence, it seems as if that cycle will follow you.
If you need help or know someone that needs help you can contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 and TTY 1-800-787-3224.
