Muse – What is The Resistance Really About?

Thaaaat’s right! Muse’s new album titled ” The Resistance ” was released on September 14th, 2009, and while it has gotten a ton of great reviews – ( 5/5 state magazine, 4/5 from uncut, just to name a few ), what is this new album REALLY about?
While it’s important to note music is subject to every ones own opinions and experiences, there are just some things in this album that are too obvious to push away.
THE ALBUM ARTWORK:
Look at the picture , at the very top of this article.
While it may be hard to tell with all the pretty designs and colours, there is actually a ‘hidden’ picture on the album’s artwork. As you can see, there is an orange pathway, with one man standing on it.. staring at the very distant earth in front of him.
So, what does this mean exactly? While it isn’t obvious unless you see it, this is actually a pretty bold reference to the pyramid on the back of the American one dollar bill, the Illuminati pyramid ( the orange path ) with the all seeing eye at the top ( earth ) :
While it might not look like it would fit in there, it helps to put the two together in a simple photo editing program, even paint will do (excuse the horrid use of the cutout tool! ):
THE LYRICS
Besides the album artwork, the the lyrics are another dead give-a-way that muse is talking about the Illuminati, and government conspiracies. Here are the lyrical meanings to their hit single – Uprising:
They start by talking about how the government has dumbed everybody down from vaccines, and other means. 1976 anyone?
They then start talking about how the government is always hiding the truth and acting suspicious, and how the presidents always spew lies out of their mouths, saying they will do something but never do.
The chorus of this song is just a motivational phrase really, saying how the government and the Illuminati will not control anyone, they will stop, and the people will be victorious.
Another interesting bit is the reference to the third eye in the song, they claim that if you open your third eye, you should never be afraid to die. Could opening the third eye reveal secrets that the government does not want you to know? The third eye has been known for ages to be the chakra of understanding, clarity and truthfulness. Maybe they are also telling us to get in touch with our spiritual side?
In the song, they even compare the Illuminati to ‘ fat cats ‘, saying that they are only good when they’re dead.

These are just a few songs from the politically motivated album by muse, which is in stores now! It is very important that everyone who reads this, open their eyes. There is ALOT the government is hiding, you will need to have an open mind and read everything you see. The Illuminati have existed for a LONG time, and they are NOT going anywhere unless we UNITE and FIGHT them.

About the topic of ‘Uprising’, it has been said in several interviews that it’s about the banks and the government not be so truthful about the economy. This is NOT a reference to the illuminati. Just the government.

The resistance is sooo about the illumanati…after you do extensive research on the illumanati and you check out music that praise freemasonary and the illumantai (e,g jay z, rihanna, lady Gaga) then you listen the resistance you see how mathew bellemy is very against the mind control that the govt carry out….and behind the govt. is the elite, the illumanati. Not everything should be taken at face value.

The Album cover might be a stretch but the rest makes alot of sense and a mistake you made when Mathew Bellamy refers to the fat cats he is talking about the top 1 percent of the world, the wealthiest people, the people who have control of more then 85% of the world.

Amelita Larson, if Uprising is about the Illuminati, do you think they would mention that in their interviews?? No. People would think they were crazy, they would lose fans and the government would probably start rumors to patch it up. Saying that the song is about banks and the economy is probably just a backup plan. I mean, look at the symbolism on the cover art. The first time I saw it, I thought “that’s DEFINITELY something related to the illuminati”.
The world is becoming a weird place. Actually, I haven’t been in the world too long, but maybe I’m just discovering what a weird place it is. Hidden symbolism, New World Orders, the government killing pop-stars like Michael Jackson….what is this all about? Thanks, Muse, for at least trying to warn us of the illuminati, if not using your lyrics to create commotion and fear.

@Stupid People, LOL, People, Muse’s albums are about the Illuminati, Matthew Bellamy told that “the main theme of the songs is about political corruption, alien invasion, New World Order conspiracies and more conventional love songs.” and in their songs “MK Ultra” (Obvious), “Uprising”, “Resistance” and “Exogenesis: Symphony” they are talking about that, obviously they won’t sing “Yes we are talking about the illuminati”, NO, they are sending us a message to wake up and don’t be stupid… what do you need to believe in? do you want that they make a song named “Humans VS Illuminati”? this is sort of in response to the comment below, i see that its old but its about how uprising doesnt have to do with the illuminati. i saw muse live 10/6/10 in milwaukee and during the first chorus he makes a triangle with his hands and holds it to his eye as he says “they will not force us”. obviously thats the illuminati pyramid and ssuch

the three colors, red, orange and yellow represent the spiritual path we (man) has been on, that is, that we are of third density, which is of will and the polarization (positive/negative) of free will. the outer colours, of what we would perceive as \”higher\” consciousness, of 4th density and above. the missing pieces and off colours are resemblant of our unawakened state, and the stars in the background represents the heavens as we perceive them visually. it could also be looked at in the sense that our physical vision of the heavens/stars/higher consciousness is masking its true nature.
also in the pic, one can discern 21 \”steps\” of the \”pyramid\”, (which are scaled fractaly rather than linearly) which is the number of cards in the major arcana which also represents our paths to enlightenment.

Hey. I must say I was a little uncertain at first about Muse being anti-Illuminati or not, but after doing a little research and reading your article I\’m convinced they\’re on our team, which makes me so happy!

If you believe that MUSE evokes the ideology of the masters of the world, the strategies of manipulation, the revolt against the new slavery etc. in their songs only since “The Resistance”, you make a mistake. I think they’re determined and they work at best to open their public’s eyes since 2001.
Listen again to “Origin of Symmetry”, “Absolution”, “Black Holes and Revelations” and open big your ears and your mind.
And… The “illuminati” term includes all this but it’s much more complex in my opinion.

I think this song has a lot to do with a book by George Orwell called 1984. If you read the book you would see that the song tells the story of the relationship between Winston and Julia, and their struggle with their growing knowledge of the corrupt directorial government ruling every aspect of their lives.
It’s scary how Orwell managed to predict our future so well.

i see how people could think the album is about the illuminati, but a lot of other references point it towards the book, 1984. the book is all about government mind control, and in the song resistance it clearly makes a statement about the “thought police” which is a reference to the book because the thought police are the main bad guys that can almost read your mind. and the songs make more sense going with the book than the illuminati

I have done some research too and I was happy to find out they are totally against Illuminati and NWO. It might be confusing, yes as they use Illuminati sings but only to strongly show who there are refering to.

for those that dont know matthew bellamy is know to be a huge conspriacy nut ( especially the HAARP concert) which is based on a secret amercan base( thats whats with all the clotheslines etc
however illuminati ehhh no while i think you defs right on people prevail etc alot of it is based around governtment even in the live performance i didnt go but the 3 towers are 1 muse to look epic on 2 think back to resistance 84′ exactly i think its about government conspriacy and whenever i listen to it walking home at night it gives you a real spacey feel but never the less whatever it means ITS A BLOODY GREAT ALBUM
