Music Used to Torture Gitmo Detainees
Musicians were furious when they found out that their music was being used to torture Gitmo Detainees. They were disgusted and demanded that they stop using “music torture”.
Gitmo detainees were told to tattle about their government’s plans. When they didn’t, the music came on. The people in charge would turn the music up to ear – popping volumes and play it non – stop for months at a time in hope of getting something out of the prisoners. Some of them knew nothing, but the only way to find out was to use music torture for as long as possible. If they lasted, they knew nothing. Music torture drove many prisoners insane.
Most of the prisoners that were let out filed lawsuits against Gitmo because of the torture they suffered through. Musicians whose music pieces were used supported these lawsuits. They were against it themselves.
As stated in the last sentence of the first paragraph, music torture drove many prisoners insane. This is especially true because Sesame Street songs were played too like “Elmo’s World” or some other kid song like Barney’s “I love you” song. That IS torture.

On www.newser.comthere is a short article on it titled, “Bands Blast Blaring ‘Music Torture’ at Gitmo”
On www.cnn.comthere is a more detailed article titled, “Bands Want to Know if their Music was used on Gitmo Detainees”

Because there were many people tortured in this way, there are many witnesses to prove it in court. With that and the furious musicians joining in, Gitmo will hopefully end the use of music torture.
