My First Smart Phone, I’m Not Very Impressed!

The Lg Optimus T, the good ,the bad,the ugly truth!

I’ve had a few cell phone since getting our first  back in the late ’90’s and most have been basic and easy enough to work with! The cell phones I really liked had been the razor by motorolla (I really like the older flat style but no one carries this style anymore), now I was forced to look for a new design/model, oh well that’s life !

Back in November 2010, I was able to replace my last phone with a 3g sony ericson, not a bad phone  and then my husband and I decided to add on another line and then the start of a love/hate relationship with the first andriod/smart phone I’ve ever had began. The sony ericson equinox phone I had before my husband got it and I got the Lg Optimus T worked well enough. It  had internet and most of what I wanted I could get to fairly easily. The Equinox basically served it’s purpose and my husband likes the Equinox alot!

In December 2010 we had the option of adding another line to our cell account and get another phone for free, enter now my Lg Optimus T and my experiences with it! The sales man with our cell phone company boasted how alot of people using the Optimus T liked it better than the Iphone, while that might be true, now I’m not too sure . When I started using my Optimus T, I loved it ( I won’t lie), this was the first time I’d ever used an android/smart phone and I was over the moon…….unitl !! About 1 month after I had this phone I started having problems with it, really after the first few days. I thought about sending it back to our cell phone company citing buyer’s remorse. It didn’t have the features I’d been promised and it was alittle hard to figure out ( yes, I read the directions !)

Once internet was put on my Optimus T, I began to like it again until about a month later (as I stated above.) I’d read reviews on this phone just after talking to the sales rep, not enough memory, not enough apps, needs to be rebooted alot, nedds to be turned off and restarted more than usual, etc ! None of this happened until after the buyer’s remorse period expired! Do I wish now I would’ve sent it back and gotten something else? Yes, but I wanted to give it a chance because I’m just that way!

As I said about a month later I started having to call my cell company provider all the time asking about internet shutting off for no reason, my phone freezing ,everything I’ve mentioned above happened but now I’m stuck with the phone until I can afford a new one or I wait for the upgrade (which is not for nearly two years.)

The Lg Optimus T is a decent phone ( for an android/smart phone) and I’m sure it means well ! The memory is not very good though on it and it freezes up on me alot. I can be online and suddenly get kicked off for no reason at all and my Optimus T has a major mind of it’s own, it turns off during calls for no reason at all !

What I like about the Lg Optimus T, I like the touch screen and the texting features (spell check is a great thing) and I like the maps on it, especially the gps navigation (I’d be lost without it !)

In my opinion, I would not buy this phone, for the good things I like about unfortunately out weighs the good more often than not. I have spoken to my cell phone company on many occassions and I’ve just been told they are always trying to find and fix the Lg Optimus T’s problems.

It could be my carrier (T-mobile) but I still do not recommend the Lg Optimus T to anyone! I am interested in the HTC and the 4g my touch. Does anyone have either of these phones and if so, how do it like, please leave me a comment and let me !
