Natural and a Land Scape of Abraka in Delta State Nigeria
This write up talks about the soil, transportation and human activity of a certain Geographic project.
Site II due to the undulating ground; we can see some erosion impact around BMS, and the gully erosion at the back of the weekend hall. At site II we can see a good example of the effect of erosion, the actual level of the ground is been washed away by erosion around the department of mathematics and botany. Along guidance and counseling lecture hall, the erosion has eaten deep to cause gully erosion, the foundation of the building is now showing.
The depth of drainage ———- 2m
Diameter of road —————–7m
The height of the level ground to block D —- 1m
See below the Landform of Site II

3.8 RECREATION AND TOURISM IN ABRAKA REGION
At Site II we walked down to River Ethiope close to the hostel as we moved closer you can feel the coolness of the breeze, people come there to do domestic chores, swim, and even drink from it. To non indigenes the river does not look deep, but it is “deceptively shallow”. This river has socio economic importance and has been developed to attract outsiders.
The velocity of the river is ——————-29m/secs
Measurement ———————————-10m
Speed= distance = 10 =0.34
Time 29
Therefore velocity of flow of current = 0.34km/hr.
Along the old abraka road we observed a relaxation center which is known as Sam mega bar, due to the river some tourist site has been constructed such as, Abraka river resort motel, at Ekrejeta, Gordon motel urhouka, mudi beach adjacent to siteII of Delta state University. People go to the river to have picnics, celebrate birthday and for sightseeing. During the festive period there is increase in population of people coming to the recreation site. This river also serves as a means of transportation and source of habitat for aquatic lives.
CONCLUSION
This field studies have been able to discuss the regional geography of Abraka which is an undulating low land of 45m (150ft) above sea level, located within the Niger Basin of the South South geopolitical zone of Nigeria.
The field study reveals the geographic variation of vegetation, agriculture, trade and commerce, waste, etc.
The physical planning and erosion problems should be properly looked in to
