Natural Disaster

SUMMARY:

The U.N. analyzed that within the next century, the world climate will change by an increase of 6 degrees even if we stopped emitting green house gasses into the atmosphere. The Earth has gained 1.4 degrees within the last 100 years, and in the next, 600 degrees because of carbon dioxide and global warming. The Plan for most countries and the United States is to cut emissions by an entire 80 percent by 2050 in order to keep the planet more descent then its negative potentials. Currently, the most affected area are the Antarctic and Artic and it is melting faster then scientist thought. According to estimates, The Earth’s sea levels will rise 1 foot every twenty to twenty-five years.

ANALYSIS AND RESPONSE:

This issue is very important because if this continues for the next couple of hundred of years, more animals will either die off or have to adapt to a different climate…same as humans. By emitting more and more greenhouse gasses more people might get skin cancer and other harmful effects from the sun. Emitting greenhouse gasses also gets to the point of “messing with nature” because one day, polar bears might have to live in a different environment or something like that. This affects me because I may be in more heat and might get cancer or heart attacks from dehydration and so on. The author wrote this objectively because this isn’t supposed to persuade the reader but to inform people about what’s happening. I think that this means we should be more environmental friendly and not make too much waste and to promote green products. If we, the people of the Earth let this issue go like its not a problem, our children’s children, and their children wont live a good life trying to adapt to different weather and climate. I think that there will be more hurricanes, floods and major rain in the future because global warming will heat water which causes hurricanes. Floods happen when there’s too much water. Major rain will happen when there is a foot of water more in the ocean every 25 years.
