Dominique Strauss-Kahn, presented by some polls as the winner in presidential elections in 2012, in front of President Nicolas Sarkozy, was arrested on charges of sexual assault, restraint and attempted rape of a young woman, in a hotel room in New York. 

He denied all the facts he is charged and will plead not guilty. He spent already, the first night in Rikers Island prison in New York, after Judge before which the issue was presented as bail refused.
