Not Evil Just Wrong Film To Explore Effect of Emissions Bill on The Common Man
Al Gore and Global Warming are strongly attacked in the soon to be released film Not Evil Just Wrong which discusses the new emissions bill. The effect on the environment will be felt mainly when children and the common man stop believing that Global Warming exists.
Unfortunately the latest news buzz in the field of environmentalism and Global Warming is the “Evil but not wrong” film, due for release on 18Th of October. The film is an attack on Al Gore and the cap and trade law which may be approved in America.
The cap and trade law allocates an emissions allowance to factories which emit gases which cause global warming, limiting the amount of emissions they are allowed and then if they can lower their emissions below their quota, they can trade this credit with other factories that need more allowance. It still means that the overall emmissions will be globally limited.
Those against the law claim that it will put people out of work; won’t help the problem anyway; is government interference in private business; that trading credits will become advantageous only to the bigger companies who can afford to be the highest bidders; and mainly they disagree with the initial premise that there is such a thing as global warming.

I have two problems with this issue. Firstly the anti-Gore advocates are protesting mainly out of self interest and not for the good of the entire planet. They are politically and financially motivated just as much as they claim Gore to be. I am sure that there is some fat industrialist who is desperate to keep his factories running and emitting poisons, and that the protesters are simply pawns in some powerful money game.
Secondly, the effect the film and the news buzz surrounding this issue has on children. If you get down to basics, down to the common man, our involvement in the environment issues amount to recycling, changing to different light bulbs, different shopping bags and trying to live a more waste less lifestyle.
When kids hear of this I can just imagine them saying:” did you hear there’s no such thing as global warming after all” and:” well then I’m not collecting bottles anymore”, and “mom enough with the material shopping bags, haven’t you heard we can use plastic again.” So if, and I am sure when, the film and it’s theories are disproved, we will have taken a giant step backwards in environmental education.
The common man is not going to see this film, he is just going to hear about it, and vaguely get the message that we have nothing to worry about after all.

Anything we can do to cut down on emissions should be done.
