Notorious Gang Busted in Dubai

An International gang was busted in Dubai, UAE recently with more than 23 kilograms of heroin worth at least 4 million Dollars. It seemed to be the biggest seizure of the year as per the Detectives. The gang was nabbed from their hideout in the Al Baraha area of Deira, Dubai during the early morning hours by the armed anti-narcotic cops of Dubai, UAE.

The gang seems to have been in the region for almost a decade carrying out the sleazy activity. Major General Abdul Jalil Mahdi Mohd Asmawi, the director of Dubai Police Drug Squad said the gang comprised of four men and a woman.

The Drug Squad got a tip-off that one Asian Woman, one African Man and three Asian Men were in possession of large amount of drugs although the exact amount was not disclosed. The Squad discovered the quantity only after they arrested the culprits. The authorities asserted that this arrest will be a lesson to other drug peddlers if there are any in the country who are carrying out this hideous activity.

The culprits hid the drugs in plastic bags, sticky tape rolls and tennis balls. Large amount of currency was also recovered which included US Dollars, Euros, Asian and African currency which corroborated the fact that the gang has connections world-wide. The gang admitted to have carried out drug trafficking and said that it was one of the Asian Countries they imported the drugs from.

This is not the first time that drug peddlers were trapped in the country. Drug trafficking has been going on in the region for a very long time and is observed to have been on an increase in the past few years. The authorities have neither been successful in stopping this repugnant activity or condense it to any extent.
