Only One Vehicle is Required
One vehicle in your driveway is all you need.
The environmental impact of owning multiple cars is very drastic on earth. As I stroll down my street, I see two, three, sometimes up to four cars jammed into one driveway. I question whether they know the damage they are doing to the ecological system. Not everyone can afford the new hybrid cars they have made. The hybrid car is greener, not green. A difference in how much emissions are emitted is the only difference. Making an effort to cut down on how many cars a family uses, is everyone’s responsibility.
One vehicle between a family is sufficient means of transportation, even if one requires taking the bus to be employed. In our home I have done this myself, taken three buses each way to sustain employment, as well as to help sustain earth. Many solutions in regards to how many vehicles are required in one house can be solved. Riding a bike, walking, or even taking the odd cab to pick up your groceries is a much greener solution then multiple vehicles.
Car pooling is one suggestion, if one is too lazy to take the bus. Many car pooling agencies are located on the internet, and you can find rides back and forth in most cases to reach your destination. Sharing one vehicle leaves much less of a dent on carbon emissions a car emits, then having two vehicles with one person in each vehicle leave the house.
Not only would you be helping environmentally, it is also more economic to cut back on how many vehicles are parked in your driveway. Even if one needs to change locations of their job to be able to do this.
If you are a family with multiple cars, please consider the damage to the environment, and make some changes to your home. If it is about children’s activities, then ask your local scout or Girl Guide leader if they can mention car pooling as a suggestion at one of the meetings. Post up free ads online, or make fliers for your neighborhood suggesting sharing vehicles between families in times of need.
You will never regret your decision on maintaining one car per home as a contribution to the ecological system, and also to your wallet.

Michael I went through that living on a farm, but I survived without a vehicle on a farm, it is tough, my family would drive me to work, even if I had to sit for an hour or so smewhere having a coffee, it was about 45 minutes walking to the bus stop during the final years at the farm due to the movement of building, and guess what? I did it, I walked back and forth down country roads to the nearest stop
again, I am unsure if you are on a farm? if so how close is the nearest farm? the nearest one to me was 1/4 of a mile, which was walkable to ask for assistance if I required a drive
now this situation of no bus is different, but if you ask your parents or people you live with to drop you off or pick you up, and go for a coffee and bring a book, I survived this way many years, then at the local restaurant for seven years my boss picked me up in the mornings, and I walked back to the farm which was about 40 minutes or so even in the winter, on bad days I used my tips to take a cab

for the longest time no buses came up that close, the last year or so I lived on that farm though it came up so I could walk to get to it, due to purchasing of farm land in northern brampton, I lived in the first farmhouse built in brampton, but for some reason they did not make it an historical landmark, but the old lady on the other side of the country road, in the 40’s she played cards at the farm I lived in, built in the 1800’s

we had to move because the well water had ecoli on it from the farm, we rented the farm house dirt cheap because the landlord wanted his property and animals watched for theft, so we got it for a steal but the house was very old and disrepaired, tony had to constantly fix it (my husband)
when we moved in carpet was in the kitchen, and due to spills and oil the wood rotted and parts of the floor were sagging which my man rebuilt, another reason why we paid like 600 dollars liek for a 5 bedroom old farmhourse, first few years was a wood stove for heat, that was fun LOL hard work but fun

One vehicle is not always enough. We need two cars in our family. My husband works 10 hours a day and I need a car in case one of my children were to get sick at school. We don’t have buses or taxis coming anywhere near where I live and there’s never a guarantee that I can get my mom or sister to take me. I can’t ask them to sit at home every day until the children arrive home from school. Besides, I like being able to run to the store when I need something and not have to wait until my husband gets home. He’s usually tired after a hard day of work and would prefer to rest instead of having to drive me places that I can easily go myself during the day.

no buses is entirely different story, I meant more surbuban living, not everyone can do what I did on that farm, plus I had no children at the time, that is different darla, but I see many city slickers with multiple cars and it is not necessary

I mean I would call an ambulance if something happened with my daughter to be honest, and I can walk to the store since it is close
it depends on the situation

in my case, sick at school, I would cab it their and back, I would not even send her here alone in a cab, you never know, and how often does that happen?
