Organic and Non Organic
Have you ever wondered why today’s society has been struggling with so much disease?Every day we hear of another disease that has been discovered, and then, bam, they found a prescription drug to "treat".
There is a reason that organic food, clothing and products are increasingly popular. We know we should eat organic, but what about the bed that we spend so much of our lives in. I have taken time to research the chemicals and pesticides that are being mass in cultures that grow the product we surround ourselves in everyday life.
Currently it is estimated that cotton accounts for more than 25 percent of all chemical pesticides used in U.S. crops. An average producer uses 5.3 ounces of chemicals to produce one pound of cotton. In fact a pesticide known as DDT was banned in the United States in 1972 because of extreme side effects caused to human beings. It helps in pesticides living in the bloodstream and is virtually undetectable by any doctor. This chemical is still used in other countries where we import most of our supplies bedding, clothing and more. The skin is the biggest eliminator of the gland in the body so it is important to realize that what we put on our skin is absorbed into our system.
Another key point is that our skin is our first line of immunity and is highly permeable to all chemicals. This has been proven and outlines the reasoning that much of medicine today is administered by the patches. Tests have shown that this way of administering drugs is 95 percent more effective than oral medications. For most people, myself included, the labels on the items we buy seemed to convey a different language. Unfortunately we can not see what our sheets or clothing is made with, except for the main ingredient. Fluometuron, dimethipin, Perdimethalin, acephate and MSMA are just some of the toxins used in growing cotton alone. Side effects of these include skin allergies, increased white blood cells, nerve damage, depression, liver failure, anxiety and more. It is ironic that these diseases are becoming normal, do not you think?
If you think this all comes from the earth in one form or another. We sleep in the bed is made of these earthly things. Cotton, wool, latex, silk, hemp and more numerous are the requirements surrounding our skin all the time. Should not we be ourselves to pure fiber and quieter? Studies show that infants are already exposed to hundreds of harmful chemicals in the womb. In fact, according to the National Academy of Sciences, most of the neurological and behavioral effects are the result of low exposure to pesticides.
I invite you to study the effects of which are given daily over processed foods, tissues and daily necessities. If you have the opportunity to visit an organic farm. You will find a completely different and a touch of familiar life. Remember, it takes a lot to create a village, but only one to destroy it. Studies are underway and options are being explored everyday to make this earth a cleaner and healthier living.
