Osama Bin Laden Killed

Osama Bin laden was announced dead by Barack Obama on May 1st, 2011. He was killed by a force of Navy Seal’s in the city of Abbottabad, Pakistan which is about thirty miles away from Islamabad, the capital of Afghanistan. The U.S. was able to find Bin Laden after finding out a couriers identity and finding out where he lived, which is where Bin Laden was hiding. After working for several months to confirm this, President Obama gave the order on April 29 to carry ou the operation. 

Navy Seals using helicopters flew into the compound. Osama resisted and was killed in a firefight along with 3 other people, including a woman used as a human shield. The Seal’s were in the compund for about 40 minutes and took no casulaties in the assault. They secrued Osama’s body and after confirming the identity of the corpse, buried it at sea. Pakistan was not informed about the operation until after it took place.
