Osama Game to End or to Mend?

With thousands of news quickly circulated throughout the world regarding the killing of Al-Qaeda head Osama Bin Laden and speculations still mounting as to his whereabouts during the attack, it is the most right time to think if studying the biography of this man of history will do any good to future generations.

Unbelievable news of this decade

There are thousands of speculations about the killing of Osama bin Laden. There are also doubts about his death whether it was a killing or victimization of some invalid condition. Whether he was killed in a toilet or in his drawing room is not a question. The point to be studied now is why he was killed. Will this killing stop terrorism and give hope to humanity? Will it cause the sprouting out of many more bin Ladens? What is the world going to do to annihilate terrorism from the face of the earth?

The US reported that Bin Laden was unarmed when shot dead in Monday’s raid by US Special Forces. It confirmed the news reporting further that US Special Forces raided a complex that housed the terrorist leader in Abbottabad, 100km outside of Islamabad in Pakistan where intelligence sources had managed to trace through monitoring a trusted courier of Bin Laden.

BBC, while reporting about his death, quotes the statement of Mr. Eric Holder, the US attorney general that Bin Laden was not ready to surrender and that is why he had to be killed. Why was not he ready to surrender? Was it his deep faith in his belief or was his pride that pulled him back from the human instinct of survival?

Who was Osama bin Laden?

The world should tackle this situation without any prejudice in mind or heart. Osama is said to have been a good man, a man of deep faith, a friendly, soft-spoken and personable man. He was old and was too weak to walk without his can. What was in him that made him cheat the best minds the world can throw at him, causing troops serious trouble fighting for the mountains in Afghanistan and other places? What was he fighting for? He was fighting for what he believed. Can there be fire in such a soft flower?

Did power struggle lead to Laden’s killing?

Agence France-Presse, a Saudi paper, reported from Riyadh, on May 05, 2011that internal rift led to Osama bin Laden’s killing. Stating about how Osama bin Laden was really killed it reports that Al Qaeda No. 2 al-Zawahri, who is likely to succeed bin Laden, says, “US troops were led to al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden by his own deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, because of a simmering internal power struggle.”  Al-Watan newspaper reported, quoting an unnamed “regional source,” that the top two al Qaeda men had differences and that a courier who led US forces to bin Laden was working for Zawahi. The courier was a Pakistan national and not a Kuwaiti as the US suspected, Al-Watan further said. The man knew he was being followed by the US military but disguised the fact. “The Egyptian faction of al Qaeda is running the organization now and since he was taken ill in 2004 they have been trying to take full control.” One thing is quite clear. It should be the power struggle or selfishness of some source that led to the killing of bin Laden.

The results have to be analyzed at the end of this game

A man has been hunted all these years after the events of 9/11, in which New York’s Trade Towers were destroyed and thousands were killed. Americans demonized one man, Osama bin Laden, stating that he was solely responsible for the tragic events. It has to be noted that he was killed without even so much as a trial. Let all these lead the world to a positive thinking, to remove the colored glass and clear its vision.
