A series of deadly attacks in the northeast of Nigeria has led to over hundred people losing their lives.
The attack has been confirmed to have been launched by the radical Muslim sect known as Boko Haram who wants to establish Shariah Law across Nigeria.
The series of attacks launched by Boko Haram included suicide bombings and indiscriminate shootings. The attacks occurred ahead of the Eid al-Adha celebration – a celebration where Muslims around the world slaughter cattle and sheep in remembrance of the day Abraham almost sacrificed his son for God or Allah.
The radical group, Boko Haram seeks to do away with Western-styled education and some Western ideals like democracy. According to members of Boko Haram, Western ideal have destroyed the country. Boko Haram is a Hausa language which literally translates into “Western education is sacrilege”
