Favoritism of Parents among Their Children 

                In every family favoritism of the children is rare. It could be the eldest member of the family, middle or the youngest child of the family. There are hundreds of reasons why favoritism exists in the family. In this situation, children feel that they are being unloved, unwanted, unnoticed, and unlike. Parents must be aware that favoritism in the family has an effect to the children and they must take an action to avoid favoritism in the family to maintain the harmonious relationship of the family.

Reasons why favoritism exists in the family. There are lots of factors why children feel that favoritism in the family exists. Like, one excels in a certain field, one is better than the other; one of the members of the family is given more attention of parents, etc.

Favoritism has an effect to the children. It affects the children physically, emotionally, morally, and spiritually. It may also lead bad effects towards the children, such as, one may rebel in the family, the child may think that they are not capable to be loved, and they never excel in their field. They may feel that they are being unloved, unwanted, unnoticed, and disliked. And these, may lead them to take unwelcome vices, drugs, alcohols, and even commit suicide.

Parents must take action to avoid favoritism in the family. There are lots of ways on avoiding this issue in the family. Parents should make their children feel that they are being love and worth to be loved. Avoid comparing the skills and abilities of the children because all of us have a unique individuality, and posse’s different potentials that God has given. Equal treatment should be implied among families. Parents should also make unbiased decisions towards their children.

Favoritism of parents among their children must be avoided in the family. Parents should also let their children feel that they are being love and being loved back. By these, children feel that true essence of being one of the family and these will help them to build strong foundation and maintain harmonious relationship among the member of the family.
