Parental Kidnapping

Just read it, I can’t think of an adequate description.

I have heard of parents who kidnap their kids from ex-spouses and brainwash the kids to think said ex-spouse is evil. To me, this is a heinous tragedy, how anyone could abuse their own kids in such a way is thoroughly incomprehensible to me. It’s tragic enough that families get torn apart by divorce, parental kidnapping is just adding insult to injury.

If parents have issue with EACH OTHER they should not use their children as pawns of revenge. My parents are divorced and have been for years, I have seen first hand the damage done when familial battle lines are drawn. I am thankful to God that my parents didn’t resort to kidnapping or any such nonsense.

I feel sorry for kids that are victimized at the hands of the parents that are supposed to protect, nurture, and guide them. I remember only seeing my mother midweek and on weekends, that was hard enough.        Victims of parental kidnapping sometimes never see the other parent again.

I couldn’t even begin to fathom that sort of pain.

I understand divorces are often heated, but that doesn’t excuse parental kidnapping.
