Pat Robertsons Views on The News

A discussion on the views of Pat Robertson that is overcoming the newspapers all over the world.

Pat Robertson is in a very controversial situation that I felt drawn to write about his views and views of real Christians. Pat Robertson has made some references to the earthquake in Haiti being associated to a pact that the people of Haiti made with the devil many hundreds of years ago.

He is referring to a ceremony they held where they slaughtered a black pig, and drank the blood of the pig as a group. One lady dancing around channeling spirits or what is called demons inside her body. It is referred to as the Bois Caiman Ceremony which occurred in August 1791.  A voodoo priestess, or what Christians refer to as a witch or witchcraft, channeled a demon inside her body called Ezili Dantor. The men and women in this ceremony pledged themselves to this demon, and then went on a murdering rampage of French men on the Island.

Channeling still occurs today. They ask the demon to come inside the body, however believe it is a good guiding spirit when in all reality it is a devil. Many devils exist, not only one.

As a practicing Christian I hold the views of Pat Robertson. Pat has also claimed since this occurred they have not had much luck on Haiti. I do most certainly believe that God controls all weather such as earthquakes, and most certainly caused the most recent earthquake in Haiti. That does not mean we are not called to help them through this crisis, or that real Christians such as myself or Pat Robertson do not wish to help with humanitarian causes to give them relief. However the difference is we just do not deny who is the power behind the occurrence. As a Christian humanitarian myself, I say let us stand united and help them through this crisis.

Haiti is also known to be associated to child slavery, brutality as well as quite a bit of violence on the Island. Haiti is a dying land where only one percent of the trees are left on the Island due to using the wood for heat. The extreme poor who are living on two dollars a day who eat dirt sandwiches as mentioned in the Toronto Sun.

Why would anyone believe that God would want child slavery and violence to occur? An earthquake places that on hold I do believe for a period of time until they get some issues sorted out.

If I were to be an honest practicing Christian I would say yes the problems began at that time when they held a pact with the devil inside that lady’s body. Pat Robertson would be correct in his views that issues have been plaguing them since that occurred.

Rev Paul from the Huffington Post made some unusual statements of telling Pat to go to hell and claims he is not a Christian. However telling someone to go to hell for only believing scriptures of the storms God creates is not a worthy Christian quality in the first place. I believe Rev Paul needs to get back to the book of Job and read the scriptures that tell him God is within the storm.

By no means does that mean we are not called to send them money or help. The dark night of the soul is a great reference to Haiti. I strongly urge you to invest time in the dark night of the soul, and consider this earthquake to be more for hope of coming out cleaner in the long run. Maybe the child slavery will stop? Maybe people will stop paying them two dollars a day to live?
