Perpetual Doubters

Dedicated to our so called “modern world and society”- full of physical comforts but evader of inner peace.

Lately we all have developed this old feeling in us: but only now it is stronger and louder than before. We don’t even hide it and express it openly whenever we feel it no matter where we are. This feeing that I am talking about is called “suspicion”. In other words we can also call it distrust, doubt, disbelief, etc.

What is it nowadays that is making us more and more insecure to trust other people’s feelings and ideas? What is it that now we feel everyone and everything is fake? Are there actually such false, bogus and phony feelings and thoughts all around us? Or has it become our basic nature to doubt everything and demean the good efforts done by others around us?

When you are in love then you doubt whether your partner loves you with same intensity or not. And if your partner loves you a lot then you wonder if there is anything that he/she is hiding from you. If your friends are too sweet to you then you doubt whether they like you or your money, and if they don’t care enough then you doubt whether they love you as a good friend or not. If someone is selling you something on the counter and is promising its benefits to you, then you walk away as quickly as possible. If the government is doing something for the citizens then there is always a group of people who will distort its meaning and curse that their government’s act will make then even worse.

We all have become perpetual doubters. This feeling doesn’t only make you a lonely person but takes you on a path of becoming arrogant and coarse. Maybe the society today is more confused about the validity and authenticity of everything because we are cheated more often. We are victims of more deceptions, frauds and shams if we are more giving and submissive. It is commonplace in today’s world that we mostly don’t get what we are promised. But then why is there so much cheating and fooling around?

The rate of fraudulent acts is increasing in the modern age because people are more selfish and self-centered. We have little morals left in us and the one’s we have are mostly corrupt. We bend them according to our comforts, needs and desires. Corruption has slowly and steadily tiptoed into our systems and all we want is more than we deserve.

This unending and boundless feeling of having more and even more in humans has without a doubt made our materialistic life more comfortable. But on the other hand our society had to make a big sacrifice of abandoning its morals and above all the serene peace of simple lifestyle. It has made living easy but survival tougher. We really enjoyed when we were developing to make our society more and more complicated. Everything was new initially and it brought in colossal gains to few. But we are slowly running out of such plans and the ones who aren’t smart enough to do something innovative resort to cheating and corrupting the society. Now most of us let our senses steer our lives and hence it has taught us how to be more selfish and egotistic. We are so ingrained with the feeling of doubting everything around us that it is not far that this world will become an extremely dull and abysmal place to live in.
