Pieces of Life – Zoomed in

Life.

Why can’t life be beautiful? Why is there a saying ‘Life is not a bed of roses but full of thorns’? The best part is ‘If thorns don’t prick us, we lay dormant and dead’. Is that what you need? A dead and decayed carcass?

I see life in every bit where my eyes could reach. It is beautifully filled in with wonderful craftsmanship.

Be it a sudden drop of water on a silent lotus and the reverberations it creates on the still pond, be it an angry wife scuffling with her jobless husband and then offering a plate full of food staying half fed herself, be it a small child let loose that crawled on the ground and ransack the newly built toy house at the sweet corner of the room, be it a sudden meeting with an unknown face and horribly getting connected as though it’s been years your thirsty eyes have been waiting for this person – life persists and knocks our door of slumber.

I was standing there at full height and could see those countless heads clicking snaps to collect and trap those moments technologically. Because moments are momentary and nothing remains stagnant. But there is always a fear of loss and a sense of getting lost. At that juncture may be those snaps tickles our hidden sleepy dormant desires. And then it surfaces again. Life goes on.

Thorns are meant to be hard but roses to soften the harshness. They play hand in hand to move mountains.

I just hope to see life everywhere. It gives me a sense of living. A huge crowd lost in utmost madness, a road rushed to it’s core, a couple desperately figuring to hold hands but pulling away, a bartender siding the customers to sip the ‘holy drink’ behind closed doors – there is so much spontaneity and happenings. Bubbles and bubbles of life radiating in all dimensions giving us a sense ‘Yes we are alive’.

Have you ever been in an old age home? What? It’s not a prison. It’s a place for self discovery. Self satisfaction and living with honor rather than being left as a trash in one corner of the room, pitied and under mercy of the ‘suddenly lost brains’ members of the house. An old man and women holding hands rejoicing a new love life. The sudden discovery of a neighbor in the corridor and a rush of laughter and gossips shared.

Life is life and meant to be unparalleled. Hope it fits in one canvas. But I like to color it with known and unknown colors. As I see and discover life through my eyes and imagination.

Living is important. And living with full energy is even more important. Have a great life.
